What lug width do Timex watch bands use?
Most Timex watches, including the Weekender, Ironman, and Expedition lines, use an 18mm or 20mm lug width. Smaller Easy Reader and womens models can run narrower. We stock replacement bands from 12mm to 28mm, and our lug width guide shows how to measure the gap between your lugs.
Do I need tools to change a Timex quick-release band?
No. Quick-release bands have a small lever on the spring bar so you can swap straps by hand, which is common on Weekender-style NATO and leather bands. Traditional spring-bar styles, including our steel and Jubilee bracelets, need a small spring-bar tool. Our step-by-step video guide covers both.
How do I resize a Timex steel or mesh bracelet?
Jubilee, President-style, and standard link bracelets are shortened by pushing out the connecting pins to remove links, then reinserting the pins, no cutting required. Are nylon Ironman and Expedition bands durable enough for daily wear?
Yes. Our ballistic nylon bands are built for the same rugged, outdoor use as the Ironman and Expedition lines, and they hold up well to sweat, dirt, and repeated wear. Silicone and rubber diver-style straps are a similarly durable option if you want a fully waterproof band.
Which band style suits a dressier Timex like the Marlin or Waterbury?
Genuine leather straps and polished stainless steel bracelets pair best with the vintage-inspired Marlin and Waterbury collections. Curved-end styles give the closest match to the original factory fit.
